October 2023 Outing

On October 10th we first went to Newhaven Fort which proved to be very interesting, and we all said we would like to return for a longer visit. Then on to the Drove Newhaven for a brilliant meal. We were so well looked after and the meal was exceptionally good value.

September 2023 Outing

19th SEPTEMBER
We went first to Stanmer Park to see the walled gardens, garden shop and the One Garden cafe for coffee. Then on to the Katrina Harvester at the Brighton Marina where we were served with a lovely meal on a pleasant table by the window.

Christmas Party 2023

The Christmas party this year will be on 11th December.  Please make a note in your diaries !

12.30pm   —   £12.50.
There will be a finger buffet with soft drinks (you can also bring your own alcoholic drinks).
This will be followed by musical entertainment by Cliff Richard’s Musical Director, Keith Hayman who also plays with 10CC.
Join in the Xmas Party Spirit with singing and dancing.

August 23 Outing

WASHINGTON OLD VICARAGE GARDENS

Our August outing took us to The Old Vicarage Gardens Washington where we enjoyed a picnic for lunch.
Meryl the owner and her staff met us, then served us with coffee and delicious cakes in the conservatory, she then said “the gardens and conservatory are yours for as long as you want”.
We all went off to explore these lovely gardens and returned for a picnic. We finished the day off with an ice cream up at Devils Dyke.

 

July 2023 Outing

Our July outing was to Ferring Country Centre which has a restaurant, garden centre and small farm zoo which kept us occupied, also has a lot of horses for disabled riders. Then on to the Henty Arms for an excellent meal, and to finish off our day an ice cream on the sea front at Goring.

Donkey Derby June 2023

On Sunday 4th June on a very sunny day, we attended the Donkey Derby and Classic Vehicle Rally in Buckingham Park with two stalls selling jigsaws, books,dvds, bric a brac,  knitted items, dolls teddies etc, and a very successful Tombola .  Thanks to all the hard work put in by all the helpers on the day and before, we raised over £420

June 2023 Outing

On 6th June our monthly trip took us to Wings Aviation Museum, a Hanger in the middle of the countryside full of the most interesting Second World War memorabilia dedicated to all nationals who fought and died in this war. We were given a very interesting talk on arrival, learning a lot of useful information. The photos show some of the interesting items. This was followed by a lovely lunch at Wetherspoons, Burgess Hill. See Museum photo gallery below and video of the Anderson Shelter.

9th May Outing Chichester Canal

We had a lovely trip on Canal Boat “Kingfisher”  down the Chichester canal, and were given interesting information by the crew, and saw lots of cootes and moorhens nests. This was followed by a picnic under the trees at the picnic tables in the Canal Basin in Chichester, with luckily good weather.   A very enjoyable day out.
